Description
When Aaron Lewis was nineteen years old he received a phone call that changed his life. The call was an invitation to join “The Carlton Showband”, the Canadian group that became famous on the CTV Television Show “The Pig ‘N Whistle”. The match between Aaron and “The Showband” was a natural. His dad Bob Lewis had been one of the founding members performing with them for eleven years until moving his young family back to Cape Breton after the passing of his wife Helen in a tragic automobile accident. Aaron moved to Ontario and stayed with the band until they retired in 1997. He returned to his roots in Cape Breton and married his childhood sweetheart Karen MacQueen. Continuing to make music his career, he performed with John Allen Cameron, The Laurel Martel Band, The Christmas Daddies, The Three Pianos, dinner Theatres at Casino Sydney, and hundreds of Club dates. Now, finally, fans of The Carlton Showband and Aaron Lewis as a solo performer have what they have been waiting for — his first solo CD – “Discovering Gold”. The CD combines old classics, including some Carlton Showband songs, and some new original material written by Grammy Award-winning Gordie Sampson, a fellow Cape Bretoner.
